Vision and Goals

VISION

TO PROVIDE A SPECIALISED NATIONWIDE NETWORK TO SUPPORT AND MEET THE NEEDS OF FAMILIES OF HOMICIDE VICTIMS

Mission :

To offer the families the necessary aid and rehabilitation services required by helping with any practical advice and assistance deemed appropriate.

To work with existing community service groups and government agencies to increase the level of support for victims of Homicide.

AIMS

1. SUPPORT
   To provide victims of Homicide emotional and practical support from those who have suffered a similar tragedy.
2. TRAINING
   To establish a suitable training programme specifically designed for volunteers who have experienced such trauma.
3. EDUCATION
   To increase the quality of communication between service/community groups and help families access the resources within the community. To educate these groups and Government agencies as to the needs of Homicide victims

BACKGROUND OF TRUST

At present there is a lack of specialist care and support for families affected by murder. While paralyzed by grief many Homicide victim's families feel powerless and isolated. Few could ever appreciate the true impact on a family when they lose a loved one, yet any one of us could find ourselves in this position. There is a definite demand and clear need for a support organisation for these families.
